DAVE ADAMS
DRUMS/VOCALS
Born in Manchester UK, Dave began playing drums at age three. As a child of musicians, his father was
a
full time pro
drummer with
many named big bands of the 40’s-50’s era and his mother was a opera
singer who
actually sang in "Madam Butterfly."
By age five, Dave was already able to play most rock and
roll
rhythms
and
had
his first band. When he was 11, he
was
chosen to play stand-up bass and did this
for five
years.
Dave
studied music
at Royal College in England, but his
heart
was into rock so he left
the
bass
behind
and
moved back
to drums.
In his mid 20’s, Dave established a name for
himself
in
musician
circles
around
London, Liverpool and Manchester, England and he became a full-time
recording
session
musician
for
TV
and radio for many named artists such as Gerry & the Pace Makers, Herman's
Hermits,
The Charels, etc.
Dave was going to tour with
Eric Clapton back in the 70's,
but he changed his mind.
(That's one decision he wishes he had never made.)
Along the way, he started a close business relationship with Dave Simmons of Simmons electronic drums,
which is also where he met and befriended many named drummers like Ian Paiste (Deep Purple), Bob
Henrit (Argent) Bill Buford (King Crimson).Dave later worked in three of the top cabaret night’s clubs in
the Manchester/Liverpool area, then moved on to
touring
the UK and Europe with many named artist
from the 60’s era.
His last two tours were by far the most exciting.
They included working with one
of
the best
Queen tribute bands around, MERCURY, then followed by a UK tour with
a fabulous Madonna tribute show, “Blonde Ambition.”
With all this behind him and the usual do this and have the tee shirt to show for it, Dave moved to America
in 2005
and established what became a highly successful country rock band, "Close Proximity." And just
as
Dave decided it was
time to venture out, fate played its hand, and he joined Neon Dream in January
2008.
With all the bands Dave has
played
with both here and in the UK, Dave brings the kind of seasoned musicianship that any band would love to get
their hands on.
So the members of Neon Dream
are only too glad to have him on board. Now…Lets Rock!
